78' Custom Fast Long Range Cruiser

This design was done for a previous client who wanted to cruise the higher latitudes, northern Europe in particular. In his 60-foot Hunt design he ranged from Guadeloupe to Labrador in the course of a single season and had the boat shipped across to the British Isles for a second season of cruising. He wanted more with perhaps even a trans-Atlantic crossing. So, for open water passages where “press on regardless” may be the only option, we gave it a low profile and aft positioned superstructure to minimize exposure and maximize stability and comfort. Resulting style is contemporary with patrol boat overtones expressing her serious purpose. Generous fuel capacity and moderate power will allow 1,000 nm range at low planing speeds, and much more at displacement speed. Our high dead rise deep-v hull has proven itself to excel at lower speeds in our all-weather pilot boats.
